Business choices help create a better world
At Esvama, we believe in one simple idea – make business choices that help create a better world. The polymer industry is changing fast, and sustainable practices are becoming more important than ever. That’s why we’ve committed to following the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ISO 26000 standards. Our strategy to achieve this involves focusing on the areas of Environment, Human rights, Business ethics, Work environment, Customer relations and Social responsibility.
Bringing the Global Goals Home
We believe in making big ideas real. When we talk about sustainability, we’re not just following routines, we’re actively transforming how we operate every day.
Take our Return Program, for example. It’s not just about recycling, it’s about giving new life to polymers. In 2023, we took back 73 metric tons of packaging material, making sure it was reused instead of thrown away. That’s 73 tons of waste avoided, directly supporting SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
But we didn’t stop there. We focused on increasing our volumes of recycled materials sold to 674 metric tons and introduced biomaterials to our product line. This gives our customers more sustainable choices. Every kilogram of material we sell moves us closer to a greener planet, helping with SDG 13 (Climate Action).
We also ensure that all prime materials are 100% traceable, allowing our customers to make informed, sustainable choices.

Our Journey with ISO 26000
For us, ISO 26000 isn’t just a guideline – it’s a plan for being a responsible business. We believe in being open about our actions, which is why we report our emissions every year.
In 2023, we transported over 7.3 million kilograms of materials, and while this resulted in 323,607 kilograms of CO2 emissions, we’re actively working to reduce this through optimized logistics.
We also insist on ethical practices in our supply chain. Our suppliers know we expect excellence – not just in product quality but in social responsibility too. In 2023, 75.3% of our suppliers met our high sustainability standards, and we’re working to increase that number every year.
Real Impact, Real People
We’re deeply engaged in our local communities, supporting sports clubs, schools, and international organizations like Plan International and the UNHCR. These efforts align with SDG’s while fostering education, job opportunities, and local entrepreneurship.
Sustainability also means taking care of our people. We offer a healthy and supportive work environment, with benefits like health care allowances and massages. In 2023, we recorded zero sick days, a testament to our focus on employee well-being. We also prioritize ongoing training and development, ensuring our team is equipped to drive our sustainability initiatives forward.
Commitment to Clean Operations
Esvama is also a proud member of the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) program, which helps prevent plastic pellet leakage into the environment. In 2023, 53% of our carriers were OCS members or had similar procedures in place, supporting SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and reinforcing our commitment to responsible production practices.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we know there’s always room for improvement. Every day, we ask ourselves: How can we do better? How can we push sustainability further? And we invite you to join us on this journey.
The Future is Now
By aligning with the UN’s SDGs and ISO 26000 standards, we’re not just contributing to a better world, we’re striving to set a positive example. And we’re doing it together with you, our partners and customers, every step of the way.
Let’s keep making a difference, one sustainable choice at a time.
